Planet Fix-It provides handyman and home improvement services to residential and commercial customers across Central Massachusetts. Services include but are not limited to carpentry and framing, painting and drywall, plumbing basics, lighting and electrical work (fixture replacements, ceiling fans, TV mounting, switch replacements), commercial property work, general repairs, and A/C installation and seasonal prep.
Planet Fix-It does not perform licensed trade work requiring a contractor's license (structural HVAC, electrical panel work, gas line work, or work governed by specialty licensing requirements under Massachusetts law). If a job falls outside our scope, we will tell you before work begins.
Labor is billed at $150.00 per hour, with a one-hour minimum per visit. After the first hour, time is billed in 30-minute increments for the exact time worked. Materials, if required, are billed at our actual cost — no upcharges, ever. You will be informed of any material costs before they are purchased.
A verbal or written estimate provided before work begins is our best projection based on available information. Final billing reflects actual time and materials. We will notify you before proceeding if actual scope is expected to exceed the estimate by more than 30%.
Appointments requested through our website or by phone are confirmed within 24 hours. Confirmation does not occur until you receive a direct response from our team. We operate Monday through Friday, 9am–6pm. Scheduling outside those hours may be arranged by direct agreement.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows may be subject to a one-hour minimum charge to cover the reserved time and travel.
We guarantee the quality of our work. If you are not satisfied with the result of any service we perform, contact us within 30 days of the service date and we will return to make it right at no additional labor charge. This guarantee applies to the specific work performed and does not cover damage caused by third parties, normal wear, or pre-existing conditions unrelated to our work. Materials are not refundable once installed.
You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area, disclosing known hazards (asbestos, lead paint, structural issues), securing pets, and ensuring an adult is present or reachable during service. Planet Fix-It reserves the right to stop work and reschedule if conditions are unsafe or materially different from what was described at booking.
Our liability for any claim arising from services performed is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, consequential damages, or losses not directly caused by our work.
Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. Unpaid balances past 30 days may accrue interest at 1.5% per month. In the event of a dispute, the prevailing party in any legal proceeding is entitled to reasonable attorney's fees.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any dispute arising from services provided by Planet Fix-It shall be resolved in the courts of Norfolk County, Massachusetts, or through binding arbitration if mutually agreed.
We may update these terms at any time. The current version will always be available at planetfix.it/terms.html. Continued engagement of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
